Singer and actress Selena Gomez confirmed Disney Channel’s series Wizards Waverly Place’s reboot that will be aired starting October 29. In the spinoff called Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the one and only Selena will appear in some scenes as Alex Russo. In addition to Wizards Waverly Place, the actress was also busy with other productions, such as Jacques Audiard’s movie Emilia Pérez and the crime series Only Murders in the Building distributed by Netflix.

With reference to Audiard’s movie, Selena wrote on her Instagram profile “making this film was worth all the blood, sweat and tears..I am extremely proud of this project […]” (@selenagomez, Instagram, 23/09/24). September has been so far a month full of awards and award ceremonies. Starting from Venice Film Festival, passing through the MTW Video Music Awards and, finally, Emmy awards. During Emmy awards ceremony, the series Shōgun won 18 awards out of 25 nominations. Speaking about Mtv VMAs, Vogue Italia stated that “they are back as sexy as they used to be” (Armelli Paolo, “Come gli Mtv VMAs 2024 sono tornati sexy come un tempo”, Vogue Italia, 12/10/24), thanks to young and gusty girl artists.

Japanese actor and martial artist Hiroyuki Sanada won his first Emmy for best actor in a drama series.In Shōgun, that won the best drama series award, Hiroyuki plays the role of Yoshi Toranaga, a smart member of Board of Regents, whose life is in danger due to the political situation. For the ceremony, the actor worn a suit by Dior.

Anna Sawai won the best protagonist award always in Shōgun series, where she interprets Mariko, a super intelligent noblewoman, allied with Toranaga. In this occasion she worn a wonderful red dress by Vera Wang and Cartier’s jewels, of which is the new brand ambassador.

During the last MTW VMAs, hold on the 10th of Spetember, Lisa, the singer member of the South Korean girl band Blackpink, took part in the event. Although brand ambassador of Luis Vuitton, Lisa opted for a stunning dress by Mugler.

Last 28th of October, the 81st Venice International Film Festival has finally begun.
